JSC “Rosseti” improves the reliability of energy supply of Russian largest occurrence of oil and gas

Energetics of "Tyumenenergo" (part of the group of companies of "Rossetti") are preparing power grid facilities for the autumn-winter period (RFP) 2013-2014, improving substation (PS) 110 kV "KNS-27" in the Nizhnevartovsk region, which provides electricity of Samotlor oil and gas - the largest in Russia and one of the largest in the world. The realization of the project - is the replacement of technically obsolete "stuffing" of the transformer.

The uniqueness of the work presupposes the use of innovative technologies to replace the "stuffing" of the transformer, the switching unit (PU) of the RS-4 type, complicating the process of operation due to technical characteristics that do not fully meet the requirements of the power reliability. Experts have developed the technology to replace the current device by a new one of MSE type, which is more reliable and does not require frequent audits and convenient to use.

The need and relevance of the works resulted from structural obsolete equipment, which led to a large number of false tripping of power transformers. Thanks to the manufactured replacement the reliability of power supply to consumers significantly increased.

"Tyumenenergo" Nizhnevartovsk power network has developed a long-term plan for the reconstruction of objects in 2014-2018 in order to gradually replace the RS-4, and 35 key power transformers will be replaced too .

"The well-timed and qualitative preparation of substation equipment for work in conditions of maximum loads, the use of innovative technologies and the latest generation of equipment allow us to provide the necessary safety, and then - the reliability of electricity supply to our customers" - said the deputy chief engineer of JSC "Tyumenenergo" Nizhnevartovsk power network Vladimir Vlasov.

Totally during the repair campaign in the Nizhnevartovsk region 101 objects were repaired. Experts have carried out 7 of 9 repairs of power transformers, circuit breakers 18 of 28, 29 of the 53 disconnectors, 3 out of 4 batteries replaced 192 of 318 insulators. Totally more than 70% of the sub-station facilities were renovated.
