Russian companies tend to widen the presence in Vietnam

The range of largest Russian energy, engineering companies tend to increase the number f projects, realized in Vietnam, as the Deputy of the Ministry of Economic Development Alexey Lihachev said in interview with “Praymu”.

On Friday Russian sales office was opened in the largest city of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City. Russian authorities intend to improve the system of trade missions abroad, so that they can quickly respond to the growing demands of Russian companies. In November the Ministry of Economic Development will present suggestions to the government about the reorganization and modernization of the sector.

"The average annual growth in bilateral trade between our countries – has increased up to 30% over the last five years, and we plan to come out this year on turnover of about $ 4 billion. Approximately the same amount of mutual investment is made up between our countries. Primarily, of course, Russian investment to Vietnam, but Investment of Vietnam to our country is also constantly growing, "- said Likhachev, as RIA Novosti reported.

As the Deputy Minister said, the most attractive for Russia are south districts of Vietnam, because they are more economically developed. “Our traditional cooperation in the sphere of secret service and oil-gas extraction and such new projects as NPP "Ninh Thuan 1" building are all south districts. So it is very important for us to have there our own outpost, supporting structure, oriented at Russian companies”- Lihachev noted

The interest growth

The Russian factories of heavy industries have taken its place on Vietnam market, where now metallurgists and aircraft manufacturers plan to participate. Last year "Zarubezhneft" won the tender to develop the oil and gas block 12/11, with reserves estimated at 80 billion cubic meters of gas, located on the southern shelf in Vietnam. March of this year, the Russian company has entered a project of development of the gas block 42, which, according to the preliminary seismic data, has 42 prospective structures. In May, the general director of "Zarubezhneft" Sergei Kudryashov said that the company sees the cooperation with "Rosneft" projects prospective in Vietnam and waits for its suggestions.

"Gazprom" in 2012 got a participate interest in blocks 05-2 and 05-3 in Vietnam shelf in the South China Sea. Two gas condensate fields were discovered within blocks: Mock Tignes (Block 05-3) and Hai Thach (blocks 05-2 and 05-3). Reserves of these resources are 55.6 billion cubic meters of gas and 25.1 million tons of condensate.
